We supply blood and blood components, state-of-the-art laboratory services, and biomedical expertise to area healthcare partners, national blood centers, biotechnology companies, research institutions, and international clients. Operating 10 donor centers and conducting hundreds of blood drives each month, we are proud to be an independent nonprofit that supplies over 30 area hospitals and more than a dozen air ambulances with life-saving blood—from our community, for our community. 

Responsibilities

Summary:

This person is responsible for Logistics/DOT Driver team in St. Paul MN. Responsible and oversees all DOT and FMCSA regulations and compliance. This person will lead and manage the IBR DOT Program.  

 

This role ensures logistics and collections operations are run in a manner that results in safe and compliant blood products in partnership with the Manager of Collection Operations.  Also, ensures a working environment for staff that is supportive and productive through recognition, feedback, coaching, and development.

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday: hours vary with occasional weekends.  Flexible schedule needed.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Subject matter expert (SME) on all transportation requirements, FMCSA regulations and compliance.

  • Point of contact for interactive safety and compliance management system.
  • Manages electronic logging device (ELD) training.
  • Works closely with HR to maintain up to date driver qualifications.
  • Manages and schedules all driver annual competencies and any road tests needed.

Lead and manage all aspects of development, implementation, standardization, and managements of Logistics team and IBR DOT Program.

  • Hours of Service compliance
  • Reasonable Suspicion and Driver Qualification program
  • Oversees all Hours and Service (HOS) auditing for all IBR DOT-CDL and DOT-non CDL drivers.
  • Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analysis and follow-up for any incidents involving IBR’s Mobile/Coach units.
  • Conduct audits to ensure department is meeting all DOT and FMCSA regulations.

Provides leadership with direct and indirect cross functional partners, (i.e. recruitment, collections) to promote the effectiveness of delivery, sustainment, and growth of the collection process.

  • Able to perform and train DOT Driver role.
  • Direct day-to-day department operations and by providing recognition, coaching, feedback, and development of all staff both formally and informally.
  • Ensures all staff understand the importance of their work and ensuring the achievement of key departmental results such as: collection goal, productivity, cost containment and quality.

Regulatory functions. Ensure accurate and timely deviations. Assists manager with SOP development including writing and editing of departmental SOPs that pertain to logistics.

Qualifications

Education: 

High School diploma or equivalent required

 

Experience:

2 years of experience of logistics, inventory, or supply maintenance position which must include supervisory/managerial experience

 

Other:

Valid Driver's License and clean driving record

CDL strongly preferred (Class B with air brakes or Class A)
